(KINSTON, N.C.) – (BCG) – the highly respected and innovative manager of nearly 150 golf courses, country clubs and resorts in 29 states – has been selected to operate Kinston Country Club in Kinston, North Carolina under their private club management, .
For the country club, BCG will facilitate clubhouse operations, golf course maintenance, marketing and sales, staffing and training, merchandising, golf instruction and financial management. The club will serve as a community asset delivering great golf experiences, as well as activities such as tennis, aquatics and junior programs. Under BCG’s leadership, both golf and non-golf programming will be central to Kinston’s mission moving forward.
“Billy Casper Golf’s marketing expertise will help grow and attract new members interested in everything we have to offer,” says Chip Harris, BCG regional director of operations. “Kinston Country Club looks forward to continuing to exceed members expectations by enhancing the overall experience for everyone who visits Kinston.”
Opened in 1924, Kinston Country Club was originally meant to be a place in the “country” where members could have a permanent picnic area for eating and fraternizing. It was not until 1931 when legendary golf course architect Ellis Maples designed the original 9-hole layout. Now, the well respected championship course hosts numerous professional and amateur tournaments each year.
“Country clubs are not what they used be 20, 10, or even 5 years ago,” says Danielle Hopper, BCG regional director of sales and marketing. “Under BCG’s leadership, there will be more focus on maximizing time spent at the club. Both traditional golf and new alternatives will be essential to growing a vibrant and positive community.”
In 2019, Billy Casper Golf celebrates its 30th anniversary of building and refining the strongest operating platform in golf. Kinston Country Club is just over one hour southeast of Raleigh and is the first course in the state of North Carolina.
